hello another day another question.

any way... i use a myler low port comfort snaffle for my ex racer. she can be strong but works well in this. recently when hacking in company she has been opening her mouth and putting her head down to try and run off. i can just about stop her but its quite hard. ive tried a flash a few times which makes things a little better. ive been told i can use a kurb chain with this bit but dont think this would do any thing.

Any advice any one?

schooling generally a better bet than trying to increase the pain level in your horse's mouth...

Stopping is a process of education, more than force.

Can you get help with schooling/training?

Know the feeling!
My boy works really well in his when out on his own or schooling but for jumping or hacking in company its just not enough. I use a combination bit instead on these occasions but he still will over bend and put his chin on his chest and piss off with me. My friend has had success with the curb but it really depends on what your horse is doing. The curb action will lower the head I believe which is fine if like her boy, yours gets above the it but for my boy it was no use. In reallity my boy may need an old fashioned cheltenham to raise his head when he gets too strong.

Others may have more ideas so hope you can get the answer you need.
