Myotonia

Can anyone shed any light on Myotonia in cats? My sis-in-law has had to send her cat to a specialist because he looked to be struggling to walk etc and they think its either Myotonia or muscular-dystrophy.

They have taken a biopsy which is being send to USA to confirm but thought Id help her out by trying to find out a bit more info for her.

Sorry, I know its not horsey but more people look in here, will also post in dogs room.
