Hope someone can help me!!! My retired TB has had a swelling from his chin groove to his throatlach area (underneath his head) on and off for a couple of months. Its really hard all the way down and subtly prominent. Hes fine in every other way - looks fab, eati ng well etc. Vet said when he colicked a couple of months ago it could be anaemia or an infection. Vets out next week to do teeth so im going to get them to look at it again - im scared iit something sinister

Has anyone experinced this before - if so what was it?

Ah, wondered if he were grey.

I'd want it investigated I think. And would be curious to know why aneamia would cause a swelling under the chin.

My 8 year old has had a lump since I got him on loan approx year ago, by cheek and chin groove, it moves its hard, vet said not to worry.

Couple of months ago it swelled up for no reason at all (well unknown to me at least) gave me scare of my life - thought it was strangles so had him swabbed and vet out! - turned out to pop, full of puss, healed now and still the lump is there, you cant see it as hair grown back but vet said it is just a gland and if they removed it, the gland would simply moved whatever weakness it is to the next one so just to leave it alone.
