So I am just about at the end of my teather and any help will be grearfull..
My boy started doing this ' hobble ' a year plus ago,he rest his hind leg and when he unrest its like he can't bear weight n he hobbles after a few seconds he's fine,it looks awful ,breaks my heart n confuses the hell out of me..
Now for the interesting bit ,he's been seen by vets, had scans, nerve blocks xrays, nothing out of the ordinary.
He's 17 n a half evented many years ago,had a hard life, has few old injury's ( none of witch bother him ) every professional person that sees him can't beleve how well he gets on with things n over comes stuff,we have had our fair share of problems , badly fitted saddle, muscle wastage ,bruised tendon, its not been easy but worth it.
So its get more interesting when you ride or lung him when you bring him back to the stable he seems to want to rest straight away - like you would if something hurt you..
There is no signs of anything when you ride ( trust me I feel everything)
Were under a vet phyiso n he's getting stronger n better every time she seems him,
If he's resting and you walk him forward there's no hobble, its if you push him on to it, lunges with ease over poles he's a very happy boy ,works in perfect outline working over his back like nothing is wrong,
To me after studying it n watching it it looks like the fetlock dosent go down straight away then all of a sudden its gone .
It hasent got any worse over the yr I keep a very close eye on it ,more confusing ,I have been doing dressage, hacking fine, last weekend won all our showing classes n champion..
Just to add more confusion he use to do this hobble 4 years ago n it stopped n hasent been around till last June it came bk ,after him go in crazy on a hack, so first thing u think is injury right ,he had time of box rest,n passed lameness test at vets but the hobble still there,so stared working him were a year on n still hobbling
Any help would be great full ,no one seems to have come across anything simlair..
Sorry for the long post I just wanted to get the whole story out there!!:-)
