I posted a thread previously - http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=613385
Vet was out for jabs on Tuesday and had a look and confirmed he was still lame and there was heat in that foot.
Despite checking him over and testing for sensitivity around the sole with hoof testers, he showed no symptoms of a bruise or abscess and vet was a bit perplexed.
He's been on 2 danilon per day since Tuesday, dropping to 1 from tomorrow. He still has heat in that hoof but danilon is obviously masking any pain.
I thought farrier was out tomorrow (we usually have a farrier out every Friday) but turns out it's not until next week.
I'm not really sure what to do now! Vet says if it is an abscess it's not coming out for a while but also advised not to poultice/soak the foot.
Any suggestions/thoughts on the best course of action? I'm going to speak to the vet again tomorrow to get her thoughts but I'm reluctant to keep giving bute and hoping it clears.
