Can anyone help me identify a mystery plant that's taken over a large area in the corner of my field? Picture below and link to more pictures.

It looks like grass at first glance but the leaves are quite stiff ("crunchy" to walk on). I'm guessing any flowers must have been yellow as I didn't notice it from the road and the field does have a fair amount of buttercup. Its already pencilled in for spraying in spring due to said buttercup and some thistle, but I really need to use it this autumn (its my only field that isn't surrounded by sycamores). Any ideas?
