Just ordered one of off EBay as Blacks is a rolly-polly cob and the saddle slips a bit (fitted by professional saddler). What do you think of it? Does it help?

Thanks,
JoElla

We've sold loads of them (you may have even bought it from us!)

The pad is very good for providing grip without adding bulk and fundamentally altering the fit of your saddle. This is a problem when you use a thick limpet pad, as it can take your saddle down a gullet size.

The other thing I highly recommend is a professional choice girth, as these also grip really well and used in combination with the NEW pad these really do stablise your saddle (one of our mares has no withers and without the pro-choice girth if you shift your weight you can end up in a dodgy position!!)

Actually, I'm sure it was from you, put the order in yesterday afternoon! It was from my husbands ebay account (irm) and it was a buy it now.
Do you sell those girths as would really be interested in buying one? I would have to measure the Wintec one he has now as not sure of his size though.

Yep that was us and it went to the post office today!

I need to look into the professional choice stuff, they used to be distributed through Shires, but went direct from the USA over a year ago.

Shires do a close copy (can I say that?), but the neoprene side to it isn't quite as nice and their elastic ends are much more stretchy. On saying that the pro choice girths are £50 v £25 so there's the incentive!

Yeah, thanks! I look out for you on Ebay now when I want something!

Right I will look out for those then. Do you think the pro choice are actually worth the extra £25 though as I would rather go for the best and be completely happy with it if I'm spending the money?

Well I have both and use both on a daily basis. I do notice a difference and prefer the pro choice.

That said I am not sure whether its a £25 difference and I have competed happily with both.

I do shark on eBay and buy up all the cheap pro choice ones

Tried to do a search just a minute ago but they all seemed to be Western ones, am I looking for the right thing? If you do see one on Ebay or know of a website that sell them then please do PM me.

I can feel a Christmas pressie coming on.......

Do you mean the one with the binding and the fleecy wither bit? Or the internet mesh thing? I had the pad under one of my saddles and it was useless, just made my horse sweat. Then again my saddler was also useless so it could have been her!

I had that one. I hated it because I thought it was like polystyrene and I HATE that stuff! Plus it didn't stop my saddle moving, but as I said that may have been the saddler's fault as she was hopeless! I imagine it may help if the saddle only moves a little though, it felt as though it was fairly grippy, just not enough for my pony and saddle.

Do you mean the white mesh stuff? Think its called the "Internet". I bought one and find it very good. I found one or two of my saddlecloths slid back on one of my horses but with this underneath (ie. between his back and the cloth) it doesnt.
