NAF blood liquid

can someone please tell me exactly what it is used for and what it is good for. pure curiosity as i know people give it to their horses -just curious as to why. looked on the net but got confused when i read something about blood profiles!!!

It is good for horses that are slightly anaemic/have a high MCV.
Ive been using it recently, will reduce the MCV to normal within 2 weeks.

i think it is the same as red cell. it has iron and vitamins. is really good if your horse is anaemic or recovering from a virus etc
