In so much agony I thought a moan might help...

Stood on a nail pointing up today and it went straight through my foot, its hot, red and swollen.
It's a bloomin pain just moved the horses to new grazing that hasnt been used for over a year, did a full field check, but this rail qhere we stood the day before replacing qhere there was a missing one was hidden under the huge amount of grass. Prayers please that I found it before one of the horses did! They all seemed sound this evening as I limped away so hoping i took the bullet before one of them did (makeing myself sound so heroic there!!)
Ive poulticed it for the night to draw anything nasty out. Tetanus is all up to date and ive done more than they would in a&e.. I put a pitch fork through the top of the same foot last year and went there and all they did was stick a plaster on it Lol

Ouch! Hope it heals up OK for you and the pain subsides.

My horse trod on a nail last year and was very lucky... it went in the side of her frog but due to a bend in the nail, it stopped halfway. Much further and I guess it would've been game over! We have gardens backing onto our field and someone had made some adjustments to the fencing on their side, letting nails drop over into our field. My mare likes to scrape for attention and I guess stamped straight on one. :(

Fortunately there were no complications.

Think I will be taking your advice as it has got hot again tonight and with a uni exam at the end of the week I cant be missing it, not after 10 weeks revision.

The main thing is the horses all seem fine and loving their huge amount of grass :-)
