Horse passed the vet and should of arrived at the yard last night at 6.. at 10 oclock they called it a night saying she wouldnt load (after they told me she had loaded TWICE into the trailer the night before)

So Im a little gutted.

Im going to pick her up in a lorry at 2pm

It might be that she is good to load but she can sense owners nerves etc.

My friend sold a pony who was a vey good loader no problems at all, when it came to putting him in the trailer he would not go in for love nor money. It ended up after five hours of trying getting my horsebox out and trying to load him in there, we ended up using lunge lines etc and got him in eventually.

It was totally out of character for him and my friend felt awful because it looked like they had lied. But people that know the horse like me know that they weren't.

Oh no what a pain. Fingers crossed she loads for you today. A friend of mine went to pick up a horse that was meant to be 100% to box but due to the old owners nerves and tears it put the horse off.

Can't wait to see piccies when she arrives

This going a bit off topic - but why wait so long to use lunge lines. I don't know why they work - we don't really do anything with them. We have 2 lines to make a channel for them to walk up and if they dither we bring them closer. But when we bring the lines out at a show people assume they are bad loaders. One horse we had would refuse to load until we started attaching the lines, then by the time we'd finished attaching them he would practically load himself. But the thing is however stressed we are with nerves or whatever they always load. Now have to start training the yearling to load - hope she is good too.
