Hi Everyone,

I am posting this here as there is a bit more traffic than in the dogs forums,

My mum is rescuing a poor little blonde retriever bitch, to be collected on Sunday.

She is only 18 months old and has been kept in a shed her entire life, never had a collar on, been on a grass garden or been in a house, she is very small and thin and filthy dirty, at her poor young age she has already had a litter of pups which were still born - I think the intended use for this dog was basically to breed and breed and breed from her - but as this was not successful she was dumped.

She is coming home on Sunday and we need a nice name for her.

Mum already has a lovely 2 year old Newfoundland called Holly (I was thinking Holly and Ivy as per the Xmas carol) but my mum knew a woman called Ivy whom she didnt get on with so isnt keen on the name!

Any ideas for a name for this lovely little girl would be appreciated, she will think she is in heaven on Sunday when she has a loving home, huge garden, and lots of love.

Thank you for reading,

Gem

Keeping the plant theme, what about daisy, poppy, lily, heather,. Or solo (since she had been kept on own), Lucky (as she surely is to have found your mom), maisy or bilbo

I knew a big fluffy golden retriever/GSD who was just a big yellow fluff ball..........

She was called Little Miss Sunshine, and Missy for short! :)

Or how about.........

Lady,
Sally (no idea why...)
Lucky
Lucie (means light! :) )
Darla

ERrrrrrrrrrrrrr I have no idea why i have thought of those names, just did!!! sorry if they are rubbish :)

Ah, a beautiful blondy. We rescued our blondy mabel at about that age, she was abandoned at a kennels, also having been bred from. She made our lives better for the next 12 years. Bless her.

Hope your you & your new girl have a happy ever after too.

Poppy? I love that name. Rhymes with soppy, which I am sure she will turn out to be.

My little GSD bitch is called Fleur. She is in my siggy, she is as pretty as a flower, hence the name.

Willow? Bracken? Rosie?
