Name the book

I read a book years ago and can't remember the title. Hoping someone here recognises it!
It was about a girl and (I think) her Welsh cob, possibly called Bronwyn. She travels across the country on her horse, either starting or ending in Wales. And in pretty sure she has a dog with her.
Anyone know the title?

I love this story too (what I’ve read of it). I have an excerpt of it in a book of short horsey stories but can’t find it right now.

I think the stallion’s name was Brenin? I may be wrong though. She came across him in the road whilst on holiday with her aunt and uncle, or something? And she caught him and took him back to the clueless hippies who were looking after him, and they gifted him to her? Wish I could find the book, it’s really bothering me now!
