Hi all,
I’m looking to name my mare as she’s currently on the Irish horse register and in her passport as unnamed. Her stable name is Rosie. Any suggestions would be welcomed tia

Oh I love a naming thread! Do you know what part of Ireland she's from? Colour? Size? Give us something to work with! :D

She’s from Perrymount in Wexford and she’s 16,1” bay and her parents were Alpine Mist (dam) and Cult Hero (sire) ?

I'm really invested in this because I don't have my own horse yet (and I'm skiving) so I will throw out some ideas! She sounds beautiful?

If I was lucky enough for her to be mine here's some I'd consider;

1. Misty Rose
2.Róisín Donn - Róisín is the Irish for Rosie/Little Rose pronounced Row-sheen or Rosh-in in the North! Donn is pronounced dun and basically means brown -
That's very long winded but-Row-sheen dun= brown Rosie, simple and to the point? ?
3. Hero Róisín
4.Róise Mist (pronounced Rosh-a, another variation of Rosie)
5.Mount Rose/Rosie (encompasses Perrymount plus her mum being alpine/mountain?)
6.Blackrock Rose/Rosie (Blackrock is a mountain in Wexford to keep on her mammys mountain team? )

Any variations there you could play with-- I appreciate encompassing the Irish language isn't for everyone (apologies if you're actually Irish and I'm lecturing you on your own language--I wasn't clear from the post) ?

Ooh I love when it comes to naming them, can never think of anything though or I end up with something very extravagant! What are your plans with her?

I really like Misty Rose, but there's already a Misty Rose registered on IHR so don't think that would work.

She’s currently just an all rounder but I’d like to eventually go into dressage
