I managed to take my 4yr tb out this morning alone. All was going well, they must have been doing something somewhere as 2 HUGE tractors with trailers kept coming back on forth, we meant them both 4 times, at one point she got really nappy and she does these little mini rears and jumps about when she dosent want to do something or go forward. Worked her through it (one point it took me 10 mins) but we coped well. I had to pull to one side to let one of the tractors past then she strted with her mini rears and then another tractor was straight ahead and we where holding them both up so i dismounted and lead her past - shes not abit afraid of them shes just nappy. Then we made it all the way back home without the silliness

Well done. I know the feeling - it's understandable when they are actually scared, but when it's sheer nappiness - grrrrrrrr

(by the way, the one I'm talking about is 15 years older than yours, so he didn't improve with age!)

Mine is 20 and still does it. But she's never been challenged so I'm tackling it now.

It's awful when it happens on the road too though. Fine down a little quiet country lane, can go backwards and up and down till the cows come home but it's just too dangerous on the roads. I do tend to pretend she's just a baby when she works herself and we have to stop the traffic

Yeah, shes getting better everytime, we still have alot to work on but baby steps!! saying that she does make a good nanny horse when shes out with others and she will lead them past "scary monsters" etc
Shes a funny one!
