I thought I'd make the most of the nice weather this morning and do a bit of schooling with Ronan. Bridle on, saddle on, did up girth (not tight as he usually blows himself up), then his legs kind of buckled, wobbled a bit then stood up, looking a bit dopey. Went to ask for an opinion on this from another yardie and got back to the stable and he was lying down (no bedding down), fully tacked up. He got up, and doesn't seem quite right, just really really dopey. We also had an incident a few weeks ago when he "fell on my head", in that he buckled sideways as I was booting him up and clocked me one. He was fine after that, I lunged him and he was great. It was almost as if he had dozed off but forgot that he was actually standing up.
Friend on the yard suggested it might be narcolepsy, and so I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this or had horses display similar symptoms?
