Hi Holly - it didnt!!!
The weather in leeds was atrocious - absoluteley belting down with rain so we couldnt do it!
But i have been talking to a nice lady at my yard who knows it will be my first time and has offered ot hack out with me on her horse, her son will ride another - we will only do a short one but it all sounds very good!
When i dont know, it was goign to be this weekend but Im on duty at work so that is out
Oh its so nice you remembered and asked lol - ty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!xxx
It sounds like you've got a good plan in place though. I think it helps the horse's confidence to go with other horses, and that will help your confidence.
My first hack was only a few hundred yards up the road with 3 of the teenagers from the yard (I'm 46) and we went to a small local orchard. I just walked and trotted around the edge, they were somewhat more adventurous - but it was nice that they took me with them.
I remembered 'cos it was so important to me to be able to hack out - schooling is okay, but there is nothing like getting out into the fields, orchards and woods - my horse loves it.
Don't forget to let us know how you get on when you do it.
