Can I ask that you take a look at the following petition
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Dogs-in-N-Forest/sign

Please can you support dog owners in the area of the New Forest National park who are faced with plans to restrict access for dog walkers by an appointed body who were not even elected.

The National Parks Authority are trying to ban dog walking in certain areas etc and you can bet that if they get away with this one restrictions will be comming to a place near you VERY soon after as other parks and local councils follow my leader.

There is more information here ...
www.newforestdogs.co.uk/index.htm

But the more support they get the more likely it is that the Gov't will be forced act. This Forest has only survived as it was a royal hunting ground now horse and dog use are under threat! Don't get me wrong I like birds, but turning the whole place into one big bog so birdies can breed is not my idea of a gift to the Nation!

Signed and passed on.

Daft idea

and living in the Peak Ditsrict, they best not get any ideas...

As horse owners ourselves we know how hard it can be to simply keep hoses on land but if you want to develop an equestrian business or build a home for your children you are in a world of hurt as they say in the movies. The NIMBY element who have retired to 'Parks' and those who don't even have to live in them cause residents harm through their determination to preserve every blade of grass on our own land at any cost for somebody to talk about or to look at if they have the time. However, the main problems relate to the personal opinions and predilections of the Members, the CEOs and the Planning Directors of the Authorities who are largely unaccountable. A petition has been placed on the website of Number 10, it is meant to bring debate to the issues faced by residents within National Parks whether they were born there or not.

The Campaign for National Parks described this petition as 'kite flying' but they did say that planners are often too 'forceful'.
