I have a difficult to fit NF pony (issues with her shoulders and also sidewards slippage). I'm confused as there are two similar sounding companies 'The Native Pony Saddle Company' and 'Native Pony Saddles' Can anyone tell me their experiences or any differences between these companies or are they both more or less the same? Thanks

Thank you all but I am still a bit confused. There are two very similar companies but the website link above is not the one linked with the saddle exchange - I think that is thenativeponysaddlecompany.com. Do they both sell/fit the same saddles? One is base in Devon and the other Weston Supermare so don't think they are the same business. Even someone I know of who has recommended one of these saddles is not sure who she used as it was a couple of years ago. Any other experiences of the saddles and fitters would be greatly appreciated as this will be the third saddle purchase in less than four years and I don't want to buy the wrong product.

They both used to be the same company (the saddle exchange) until Dean & Andrea went their seperate ways (only recently, so likely your friend used them when it was still all one company)
Dean now does comfort saddles and 'the native pony saddle company'
Andrea does http://www.nativeponysaddles.com/ (she was the designer of the native pony saddles)

So at a glance they are pretty much the same, but the quality of the saddles from Andrea/http://www.nativeponysaddles.com/ is much nicer and the better fitters (IMO) went with Andrea when the company split.

Send a PM to 'sbloom' she's a fitter for http://www.nativeponysaddles.com/ (and who I use)

Thanks for the kind reviews, and sorry to everyone for the confusion. We did used to be part of Saddle Exchange - Andrea Hicks years ago bought the Native Pony SC brand and set about redesigning the range. She brought her partner Dean into the business soon after. Then two years ago they split up and there are now two companies selling saddles under similar "Native Pony" brands, a situation we hope will be remedied this summer when this country's legal system might get it sorted for them!

I chose to stay with Andrea as did all the longest standing fitters.
