Looking at NPSC but confused about the serial numbers and sizing. What does 8F or 5F etc mean? Is it date made or width? Also what do the other vertical digits mean? Usually a number then letter then four numbers from top to bottom. The I know which ones are the tree size which written horizontally over the vertical sequence.

E.g.
16.5

Do they have plastic trees or wooden?

Thanks for any help! :D

I've answered on your comment on another thread but plalstic treed saddles nearly always have a panel with screws at the front that can be dropped to access the headplate. Most good wider horse brands are wooden trees which IMO are better for fitting these shapes. And most ID numbers, though not all, are simply sequen tial with no "code" behind them. Sometimes the date is in the firts two numbers but not in this case. 5F is probably the original width, 5 fit being XW, but they can be altered a little.
