Delicia is a sensitive mare, but she is still a mare and right now is being a little bit of a madam!

She's dominant and trying to dominate those around her (horses and humans alike). Shes a tad grumpy, getting over protective of food and squealing.....in short its spring and she feels great :D

She isnt that bad, she nips a little and threatens to kick with her front legs but i have seen a lot worse. I have used various calmers in the past and used oestress with varied success last year but would like to use a more natural approach to her hormones.

However i am clueless about this, so thoughts on a post card please :) caramel brownies for all replies :)

aromatic oils worked for Taz ;)

to get ones to suit the individual horse from the range that can be effective its best to get a practitioner out as (s)he will have a wide range on offer and the horse basically chooses the ones it likes. That saves us wasting money on stuff that horse will not like ...... they dont always "go by the book" as my friends gelding was very partial to one of Taz's "female hormone" oils

mmmmmm caramle brownies.... never had one before ... yummy :D

I am going to use magnesium, brewers yeast and agnus castus this year. I have used oestress for years and it does the tricks but they are the 3 main components of it minus the fillers. they are all natural products.

Do they really work? I dont really want to feed delicia anything other then what she is already on but she needs something, perhaps a nice bathrobe, hot water bottle and cosmo magazine :D

and yes, the brownies are seriously good!

hmmm - my first port of call would be a scan of ovaries - I only say this as mine was similar - and had a tumor on left ovary - its now been removed and she is lovely now.

Agnus Castus is the main ingredient in any hormonal supplements. Far better to use the true brewed stuff on it's own and adjust the dose according to how she feels, best product and price i've found is Pro-Earth on Ebay or i think NaturalHorseSupplies on Ebay, only a few pence difference between them.
