Rose has been tripping on and off for a while

No physical reason found, but Vet thinks her toes are too long and heels need to be lowered. Has suggested changing farrier and asking for natural balance shoes.

Being a total numpty here, but I know nothing about this type of shoe, so anyone got any experience good or bad?

Thanks

if your farrier is good and reliable just ask him to talk to vets re shoeing? Have you got X-rays? Ask him to take breakover point back and shorten toes!

Agree that if you are happy with your farrier, then I would ask him to talk to your vet. NB shoes are great for alot of horses, but not for all horses as many vets seem to think.

Thanks everyone.

Was very happy with farrier but he has given up to do a different job and was only doing our ponies as a way of keeping his hand in

Have found a farrier very close who is happy to come out and look at Rose. He works closely with our vets so is going to have a chat before he comes next week. Rose was in quarter clips, so perhaps she can stay in them? Vet did mention rolling the toes instead of using natural balance shoes.

If the tripping continues after new shoes then vet will investigate further
