People that use naturediet who has found that some of the trays have been off lately? Ive had to throw alot of trays away! My dogs love it mixed in with there skinners but as there going off im going to have to change it as im just wasting money throwing it away! Does anybody have any other wet food suggestions which is good food?

Used to use them when I fed dry food, not had any off ones but found suppliers always had out of date ones on offer. Also every other one wouldn't 'peel' open properly and it used to drive me mad! :D

Fish4Dogs salmon mousse pouches are a good alternative if you just want a food topper/wet mixer - plus they periodically do a buy one box, get one free offer so 90 pouches for £21 delivered. :)

I gave mine a tray of Naturediet once - never again. Bottom explosion ain't the word.

They've been having packaging issues, apparently. I had one out of two boxes that just smelt rancid. Puke, straight in the bin.

Wainwrights is a fab wet food, IMO and we use that as a supplement sometimes. It's also slightly cheaper than Naturediet.

This is common with Naturediet if it isnt sealed correctly, can I ask why you need a wet food? Which skinners are you feeding? it just seems to be you are paying out for a natural wet food and mixing it with a not so good dry, where as a good dry would cost less then wet and cheap dry mixed.

The packageing is rubbish!!

SamantaG- Im feeding the skinners salmon one which is hypo! I was using JWB but was gettig quite pricey! A 15kg bag will only last me about 3 weeks as i have 3 mouths to feed!! I just add abit of wet once a day just to give them abit of a change!

Lovely thats the best one in the skinners range, it does have loads of rice in a little meat, which makes it bland. I do know where you are comming from I have 5 to feed so 15kg lasts me 10 days. And if I add wet its just gets silly, was only thinking the wet isnt needed so they are costing you more to feed.

Mine have skinners also, I buy the the bags of frozen mince from Jolleys
or PAH, usually chicken or lamb to mix in. I defrost it then bung in the microwave
for a minute.

I have 3 dogs also and a bag for £3.50 will generally last around a week.

I had a really bad experience with a rancid pack of Naturediet only last week. My husband fed it to our 2 dogs before he realised it was off, and my Spaniel ate it (she will eat anything) but my Yorkie just sniffed it in disgust. It was then that the stench reached him, and it was so rank, when I came into the kitchen I thought something had died :(

I sent a photo of the pack to Naturediet and they tested the control packs for that batch and said they were OK, so it was obviously a case of an ineffective seal.

It has really put me off using Naturdiet again, especially reading this thread and realising it's a common problem, as Naturediet gave me the impression it was a one-off.

This was the chicken and vegetable variety. Batch no. 2295.

Here's another one from a couple of weeks ago... Naturo ... really nice product, shame about the packaging. But when I sent them the photo here of mould creeping into the product, they sent me a box with their new packaging with a foil lid. Impressed with their customer service and I hope it resolves the problem.

Echo Blackcob - when I fed this to mine, he had a fairly major 'accident' at 5am on our beige sitting room carpet :-(

To be fair, he was also like this on Wainrights wet food too so I think there's just something in wet food that he can't tolerate.

Now he has eggs or sardines mixed with his evening dry. Am going to give tripe (not with his dry) a whirl too.

But to add, I did have a problem with Nature diet packaging - one pack was definitely a bit on the high side so I threw it away.

is that definately naturediet? It looks like the Natures Harvest that we use that I far prefer to nature diet- far nicer usually. Glad they sorted it for you- not many compies with good CS anymore :(

I currently have two packs of Naturediet (securely wrapped in several carrier bags!!!) which I need to return to my local dairy (where I buy my dog food). I buy Naturediet by the box (18 packs to the box) and I have to return two packs out of this box of Sensitive. Think it should have been three but I accidentally fed one to Ruby and Pip! One pack was "blown" and other stank to high heaven when I peeled off the lid! Over the last couple of months, I've probably returned about eight or nine packs, which the dairy report to the Naturediet rep and then replace for me. They're quite used to me (or my daughter!) turning up with a putrifying carrier bag! However, Naturediet has really settled Ruby's terrible colitis problem so I put up with the occasional "dodgy" pack because the food really has helped. Feed Puppy/Junior to Pip and haven't had so many problems with that one. Dairy said that Sensitive is one they seem to have a lot of problems with, but they are always happy to replace.

I had a tray last week of the senior/light that was all puffed up and smelt bad before I even opened it. My feed merchants exchanged it, no problem.

Think I might have to look at other wet feeds for Oz though if this is becoming a regular thing (he only has a little on top of his JWB dry as he is a fussy little devil................and spoilt)!
