I am pregnant so not doing too much with my boy - I hack him out in walk once a week and OH rides and lunges him once a week. He has never been one for hard work and threw all his toys out the pram when I upped his schooling last year to try and move up in dressage to the extent I had to realize is wasnt his thing and stick to schooling out hacking and once a week in the school, he seems happiest being ridden twice or three times a week with daily turnout so long as he has lots of fuss and cuddles. we do very low level local comp and hack so that suits me fine as work very long hours as well. His feed has been adjusted according to work load and he goes out with his friend. however recently he has been a bit of a bugger to bring in ( not just riding days even just at tea time ) squealing and leaping around and has started trying to kick when picking out his back feet. - will get his back checked in case tweaked something fooling about but wondered if anyone can think of anything else. he has always had a tendance to get bargy and thuggish if not handled firmly and consistantly and can be quite opinionated As he is 16.3 idxtbxcob cross and weighs in at 640kg this is not something i'm keen on him developing. no one is interested in riding him as all too busy with their own and seems very little interest in sharing locally. Do I just keep up with firm handling and continue as we are ??
