went out to the freezer this morning (in garage), and noticed ferrets door was wide open. No sign of Oscar, but Ray was still curled up fast asleep. Knocked on all the neighbours doors to check their gardens and no luck. We back onto playing fields and forest, and in this awful weather, absolutely feared the worse.kept going for a look about throughout the day, and in the meantime, called all the local vets, and the ferret rescue centre.

As a last resort, I put a post in a local group on FB that I've never used before, and Oscar was brought home at just after 4o'clock. So relieved, I can't tell you. A lady had spotted him in the road, luckily it's quiet around here. She took him home, did phone a couple of vets, but said none seemed interested. He is microchipped too.

Still, just so happy to have him home, and so is Ray :), and thanks Facebook.

We think he rattled the door until the lock opened. Taped up with duct tape tonight, and will buy an extra lock tomorrow.

So glad you found him! We've had a couple of escapes before, and the worrying is awful. I found our last one in the laundry room behind the washing machine. The dog was staring down the gap wagging her tail madly. I was up most of the night searching round the village for her, and she was in the house!!!
