I am soooo cheesed off .
Last wednesday my hubby had an attack of sciatica.
thats fine some would say, except that we had 4 rould bales of haylage to roll on, our 11 horses live out--well rugged on a 8 acre field -- but we roll on 4 x 600kg round bales of haylage twice a week.
I couldn't do it on my own and had no one to help, so I thought that if I put best part of 3/4 of a bale on they would have enough till friday then I would do the same again,(hay isn't kept on the field so the horses have no access to it) I struggled for 3 hours wheelbarrowing heaps onto a dry ridge we have , fed them and made sure they had water .checked in the evening they still had plenty to munch.
BUT oh no, it didn't, Friday morning I go over to find my electric fencing at the top of my field totally destroyed, the ground --well chewed beyond redemption -- an 11 horses looking like they had had a party,
I put them all back in the field , they promptly legged it as far away from me as they could and just stood watching me--I said not a word but must have put on a very good show of looking big and unhappy --
I managed to resurrect the fencing , how i managed it but i got 2 bales onto the field, I am only 5 ft tall,
saturday came and I had the same again , I just sat and cried.but as you do you just get on with it.what cheeses me off is that they had hardly eaten a 1/4 of each bale.
Sunday, perfect they were all on the field looking as innocent as angels, I had abit of help so we rolled on another 4 bales, just in case, rather too much than not enough.
Today total destruction again, TWICE, sorted it this morning, have just been over again and they have destroyed the lot.
HELP, I am going stir crazy , I am dreading tomorrow. The weathers good enough to do a bit of riding but I am knackered .I even came to the conclusion that I am selling the lot of them
