I set off in a steady walk across a field, to avoid the deep floodwater on a road and my pony took off at a fast canter. She was really quite rude and bronced a few times. I was wondering what kind of bit would help me have more control over her? She used to be ridden in a gag but we switched to a snaffle as her mouth was sore and we felt she didn't need a gag as she is usually quite polite. She wears a flash and martingale, simple noseband, a snaffle with biscuits. She is usually a very cheery horse but I thought just for hacking in fields we should try something stronger to gain control as this has happened several times now.
