Was about to order a pallet of pellets when I realised they've reduced the number of bags from 67 to 65. Called them up as thought it could be a typo, only to be told that they have done this as everyone else does it! Sorry, no they don't. A pallet has always been 67 15kg bags.
I did say it was a bit underhand not to explain the reduction on their website. To which he replied, that they do tell people that call up!! I wouldn't mind if the price had come down, but it's gone up!

Time to shop around......

Please let us know if you find a good replacement/alternative. I will be shopping elsewhere after my recent experience where the driver turned up (10 days later) unannounced and as I wasn't around, he rang me to say that as I wasn't there, I was refusing delivery and they were taking the pellets back! I did ring the office constantly and they promised I would be told when the delivery would arrive.
I put up with it because they are quite reasonable on costs, but starting to sway against LWP now.

I have just bought a pallet of 67 bags from Eden Products. But, I would not let the delivery company put me off using a supplier as dont they all use the same delivery companies anyway.

Surely that's illegal under the Trade Descriptions Act? I'd let Trading Standards know.

Hi, I'd never actually thought that - I made a few phone calls and got them to agree to re-deliver. I was basically caught between being told by LWP that the driver should ring me and that they were at fault, and the delivery company saying LWP were at fault as they never ring before hand and expect people to be in. The dispatch manager (delivery company) was quite rude on the telephone and said that they had received no such instructions to ring and that I was to sort it out with LWP.
LWP have now offered me a 5% discount on a repeat order but it's not that tempting to be honest.
Thanks for the tip re Trading Standards - it never occurred to me! I was just so angry at the time!

I don't understand why LWP are so popular, they're more expensive than Corley Biowood and their product was far inferior when I tried them. If all companies use the same delivery guys, how come you get knobbers when ordering LWP and decent drivers who call half hour before arriving when using Corley?

Why would it be illegal? They state on the website how many bags are included. It would only be illegal if they supplied less than stated.

Imagine the problems this could cause on a livery yard. You think you have ordered 67 and as you use them realise 2 are missing.... Fireworks!

Oops sorry my remark was addressed to the OP!

I've found LC Energy doing Blue Ribbon at £268 (67 x 15kg) or LWP are doing the full tonne in 10kg bags at £262; the 15kg bags are £254 (65 x 15kg) there's also a discount code to use online.
Has anyone got any more prices? Found Corleywood for £265 (100 x 10kg)

Is that delivered?

Cheeky Verdo have done the same, but still quite reasonable, although the others are even better value. £4 a bag for Blue Ribbon, £4.29 for Verdo and £4.34 for Blazers, based on 20% VAT for bedding as opposed to fuel. Think I'll get some for the wood burner, too.

Big bad isnt it seems everything has reduced in size , I mean 10 fishfinger for a family of 4, lol, I sat and thought about pellets after using them 2 years ago, I mean what do they actually turn into? The answer is dust, sawdust! For £5.20 a bag you xan buy baled dust extracted sawdust (made me laugh at first) 20 kilo bags, I put it down and damp it as you would the pellets , it works really well, but my stables are very open and airy and on average our horses only stay in for 4 ish hours per day, dont find it any dustier than dust extracted shavings when they break down

Where do you get the sawdust from?

I bought a tonne yesterday from white horse bedding they are doing 5% off first order so it cost £235 with delivery

Thanks guys. Will have a look at all those mentioned here. Think I've had white Horse before and they were fine, Blue Ribbon too. I got 67 bags on a pallet then too!
