my horsey has bitten another livery today and taken large lump of skin off down to the fat of the arm , they cant stitch as no skin so poss skin graft after she given birth in like 6 weeks

i cant seperate into my own paddock as no where else for him to go and i feel so bad

Your horse has bitten another horse? Oh no, I know it’s hard but try not to feel too bad, horses will be horses. I would be the same though!

well-cant prove this but we have a lock on our field , i put the key back last night and it hasnt moved since i put it back and i lock it a certain way and she goes down to check on her 2 in a morning, and give them a carrott i poss think she has fed them over the gate and mine has got jelous but no-one else was there

If it's as serious an injury as she's saying then you need to be careful she doesn't try and sue you for it - I presume your horses are insured? Are you a BHS member? If so I'd give their legal helpline a call so you know where you stand just in case she starts anything.

In that case can she prove that it was your horse that bit her? I agree with scotsmare, i'd be very careful incase she looks to sue for damages. I strongly suggest that you DO NOT admit liability just in case

Don't want to sound harsh and it is a terrible shame what has happened but the reality is horses can be dangerous and everyone that works with them has to accept that

You are only insured against your own negligence.
If you were not negligent ( and I can't see how you could be in this case) your insurance company would not pay out. It is more likely that she was negligent herself if she was the only one there and got injured.
