My Highland pony, Nelly, has been ridden by my daughter for the last 3 weeks because I've not been well. At first she went nicely but as the weeks have passed she has been "testing" my daughter and starting to become a bit naughty. She had a bit of a shock today though because I got on her again and she was made to work properly. Apparently her face was a picture as she realised that she was no longer in charge.
She tried all her tricks i.e. speeding up, slowing down, doing little bounces on the spot, refusing to bend on one rein but when none of them worked she gave up and became a little lamb. She got her reward - a nice little hack down the lane afterwards - but I think she now realises that Christmas is over
