Decided to take Kelly for her daily walk today to the outdoor school - we've been going down there when the other horse is being ridden and Kelly stands and grazes the many weeds outside it quite happily

However yesterday she decided she was going IN the outdoor to roll and proceeded to jump up from the floor and stand up vertical! Other horse just looked at her as though to say "what ARE you doing" and carried on :p
Erred on the side of caution today and took her on a lunge line, so she could have a roll and a bit of in-hand grazing and a nice, calm walk around the outdoor where it is soft on her feet.

Wrong.

She rolled, then I've never ever seen her move so fast, she jumped up, stood up on her hind legs, and took off in canter around me - I managed to get her walking nicely for a few seconds before she headed off again, in trot. Good thing was she looked sound! :D:D:D
She rolled again, got up, shook and there was a split second of "what can I do next!" in her eyes and she reared again, and managed to snap her lunge line clean in half, cue me sneaking alongside her going "good girl...good girl.." before I got close enough to grab her :o

Here are some pics from a video I managed to get - something to show the farrier as he doesn't believe us that she can be naughty!!

After she'd finished pratting about, I put a pole down and let her walk over that a few times, just for something a bit different.
Doesn't look half bad for a 17 y/o with Cushings does she!!
:D

ETA; I don't know why the second picture won't rotate :( might just have to tilt your head for that one!

Even after all my paranoia yesterday that she would be on three legs today and hopping lame after all her naughtiness yesterday....

she trotted out of her stable, barged me out of the way (INTO a patch of nettles - any ideas on how to stop the pain are welcome!!) and into the field!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Mmm, yes, we have had this recently having had 6 months box rest - horses feeling good about themselves just have no consideration for their owners that stand in the way!! :D  She has a mischievous look in her eye, but probably because she is feeling on top of the world - hope she keeps it up (the feeling good, not the barging past you!! :D).

Haha, I think this is just her to be honest!!
It is that look in her eye that makes me laugh, that "what can I do next...?" xD
hope yours is good too!!!

bless her. She just wants you to know theres life in the old girl yet ;) :p :D
I love the second pic in the second lot of pics (If you get what I mean  ) :D

Haha thanks! :)
yeah I know what you mean :) I can't quite believe she can move like she is doing even after everything she's been through!
Think we might do quite well in a little veteran class :D
I hope the (not so) Horrible one is still doing well! :)

Yes you should do some veteran classes once she's urm feeling much better ;) :D
Your post remined me of Lucy the first time I rode her after she was diagnosed she bucked me off and ran home without me. They do like us to know they are ok realy and we don't have to worry. Just wish they would find less painful ways to do it ;) :p :D
Herbs is ok thanks, still has his moments bless him. I'm taking him to the new forest show in a couple of weeks. I hope he behaves himself considering the last show he went to he desided to get down and roll in the middle of the best turned out class  ponies  Gotta love there sence of humer  :p :D

Haha yeah ponies are ace :D
he will be fine!!
Well we have the vet out next month to check her over and if he gives the go ahead we'll get back onboard....and hold on for dear life!!!
