Got Happy's back done last Thursday night. He had 4 days off because we were away and I decided to ride him last night. Well...!!! First 15 mins were fine. The remainder of the ride was hilarious - every time he heard a rustle he would spin round and try and hoon off with me, every time the dog came past he would start bucking and he was absolutely wild. Thankfully his bucks aren't too huge but even so!!

Was slightly surprised because when he was kicked and had a week off he was a complete dobbin when I came to ride him again. Is he just feeling well or could his back be sorer after having it done? Too much spring grass?

He seemed very tense and was constantly mouthing his bit but not in a relaxed way. He is having a new saddle fitted on Friday and had his teeth done.

Any ideas?
 
It could be that he was feeling so rough before, and now you are a nice Mummy and had all of it done he can't believe how well he's feeling - hopefully once he knows that feeling is there to stay he'll settle down!

I hope so. I've just had hysterics with a friend who I rode with before he'd had his back done. He was like a lamb. Now he is most definately a lion. She said it would be interesting for hunting as he whips round at the slightest rustle!!

I went to feed him in the field this morning and called him and he started galloping round and round the field bucking and farting like a trooper.

Hope he does settle down. We were delighted that he was so calm when we got him...!!!
