Coaxed someone into taking a few pics of me schooling over the weekend and aside from needing some lunge lessons to work on most areas (lack of lessons for last 8 months is showing - instructor has been contacted!) the one thing that seems particularly bad is my right leg. No matter what length I put my stirrup the angle of my heel would suggest I live in 6inch heels!! Left leg behaves perfectly, right leg doesn't! Interestingly she is much more switched on to the L-leg than the R-leg, probably because she hasn't got a clue what the R one is actually doing (nor do I looking at the pics!!) Looking at it I need to get my right hip more open so that the thigh can drop down and back, allowing weight to drop through the back of my calf and *hopefully* into heel but even when thigh is loose and down very naughy lower right leg is doing some very bizarre things!! I've also noticed I seem to turn my whole R lower leg (not the L one though) out so the back of my calve is against her sides??? Odd?! But may explain her one-sidedness hence wanting to fix this pronto!
So short of tieing some heavy weights to the back of my boot, any exercises I can be doing on/off horse to correct the problem until I get get some lunge lessons booked?
