I went for a hack this afternoon and when I came back my whippet, Tilly, looked very guilty about something. I couldn't figure out why because she'd not managed to steal the cats' food or done anything else that I could figure out. However, I just put my coat on ready to go out with my daughter (she runs, I walk with Tilly) and discovered that my lip salve was no longer on the worktop. It was actually in Tilly's bed and she had chewed the end off and was just about to apply cherry lip salve to herself :eek: Fortunately she was caught in the nick of time so no harm done but I have no idea what a full tube of lip salve would do to a dog if eaten? Hopefully nothing but I won't leave it in the kitchen again :o
 
I know the feeling... I have two of the thieving, long nose little *******!

The other day I couldn't work out why one had really runny, lumpy poo.... I then noticed half a pack of Haribo's missing!
 
This made me LOL - my greyhounds regularly steal lip salve (I buy the Body Shop strawberry one usually) and eat the whole thing :O :) :)
 
My whippet X, as a pup/youngster went through a phase of having odd coloured poo - I mean, some days it could be reddish, others blueish, but green was the most common!! Couldn't work it out, dog was very healthy and happy!! Then the kids packet of wax, non toxic crayons went missing.... hummmm!! lol

Oh, and the shame of 'something' snuffling in the kitchen, (I was in the sitting room)... crept in, to find her ON the work tops doing the pre-wash of our dinner plates - not unlike a cat could do, except she had to duck down slightly to fit under the higher cupboards. My shout 'OI', scared myself, let alone her!!
 
Mine is always thieving!

This morning she stole a roll of toilet paper and shredded it on the landing.

She always takes the cat food from the sides if we forget to close the kitchen door. She always takes my bras lol. She loves my mums mobile phone which can regularly be found in her bed. In the summer she picks the chilli peppers in the garden and brings those to her bed.
 
My whippet cross is definitely not to be trusted with anything edible. Thieving nature helped by long legs and nose means that she has to be watched if there is anything left about. Over the holidays she helped herself to the meringue topping from my lovely Queen of Puddings - I hadn't pushed it far enough back on the worktop!
