Anyone any experience/advice?
Horse 3-4/5 lame, blocked down to 1-2/5. Xrays show spur on NB probably impeding tendon. Horse now shod with raised heels/short toe to ease breakover. Know it's long term issue, would just like to get him more comfortable.
Thanks

This sounds very similar to my horse, he has an old navicular fracture which healed with extra bone formation he was 3/5 ths lame on a circle.
I tried taking him barefoot for 10 months as so many people say this is the best long term outcome but unfortunately it didn,t help him, he has now been shod with aluminum leverage reduction shoes which are higher on the heels, they have only been on just over a week but he is already sond on the straight and only slightly off on the turn he is on one danilon a day but i hope to reduce that to a half and i am back riding him and he is going well, so fingers crossed this will continue hope the shoes work for your horse too.
