Rockley Farm rehabilitation centre is running a research project with Liverpool University into rehabilitation of horses diagnosed with navicular/DDFT problems by taking the horse barefoot. The rehabilitation success rate of effectively "written off" horses has so far been little short of miraculous, but greater numbers are needed for the project to be completed, peer reviewed and published.
If anyone has a horse with a full diagnosis of navicular/DDFT then they could be rehabilitated by this project and help to save many other horses from being put down in the future. Good insurance companies will cover the rehab costs.
