My 15 yr old tb x came in lame a month ago got the farrier that day as all signs pointed to an abcess of which after testing and pinching farrier gave her all clear.
Put her in on box rest for a week to see if it was muscular and would settle. Lameness became less noticeable until her bad leg was flexed and held up then she was 7/10 lame
Rang vet and they prescribed bute for four days two sachets a day.
Vet came out today tested foot again still no yielding so abcess definitely ruled out. When trotted up no lameness was seen at all. Then trotted in a tight circle where it became visible after several laps and once again 7/10 lame. Vet then flex tested her and she was dog lame so stopped after two/three strides.
He has arranged for x rays to be taken and she is going to the vet hospital for further tests but vet thinks all signs point to navicular or a fracture (this is more unlikely as she is not lame enough)
Any one got any advice or been through it?
She is out now in a flat field with a quiet mate as the box rest didn't make a massive difference and just left her becoming a bit of a demon when brought out
