Posted in vets as well but thought I might get more responses in here. Just wondering what people know about navicular disease? My mare has gone into vet college for further tests and at the moment sounding like it could be navicular, just want some info on it really and some advice from people who have had horses diagnosed with navicular on what to do with her and what you have done. Thanks in advance for your help

i dont know if this is any help but the other day i rode a horse who only has slight navicular only small, he can still be ridden and jump occasionaly but just cant turn in tight circles

A lot of it depends if it Navicular DISEASE or Navicular SYNDROME.

I know of several horses that have had navicular syndrome for years and with management are still doing ok. Most can still hack and jump small jumps on softer surfaces. One of which is now in his later 20's and still pottering round the lanes.

Sadly I lost my boy a few years back to actual Navicular disease.

I hope you get good news back.
