I have been helping to school a Polish Draught mare - anyone else ridden one?

She's a sweetie, if green, but tries so hard to do what you're asking...

We've spent the week hacking out in company (she's a bit iffy with lorries etc, but that's just going to take time) and in the school, where we've been trotting increasing/decreasing circles, serpentines, walk/halt transitions and we've just started canter...

It's not easy for her, as her neck is as deep as it is long, but Bless her, she is trying so hard!

So proud of what she's done this week, so forgive the pointless post! :)

No but I know what you mean by a deep neck! My native is thick necked but with schooling can work in a reasonable outline and bend with the best of them. H ecan turn a mean prelim. Keep trying and well done x
