Well we are now ten months into our first totally barefoot year :D

A hoof update :D

Fronts

Hinds

So what do we think :) Hes sound across everything but the sharpest stones. His frogs are rather raggedy but I think they are shedding and there is no smell or tenderness when I poke about with them :)

Wow is it really nearly a year!!?

They look great BB. I remember when you were still losing chunks but they look as strong as anything now. Look at the size of them frogs!

In the grand scheme of things, 10months is nothing and look what you have now :)

What you really need to do is post the before and now shots for comparison, because there really is a huge difference :D

By the way, interesting the funny growth ring - Jackson has an identical one, same stage of growth along the hoof - I think it was the snow!

thanks :)

the black lines on his hinds really seem to track his heels coming back iyswim whereas you could see the line slipping forwards before.

Also on I think RF?? has poss developed a slight medial deviation but even so the whole foot just looks a lot straighter (and poss the pastern above it but can't see it in the now pic ;) )

Really interesting for me, thank you! We're only in week two of having our hind shoes removed, and already loving the differences/developments :D

Yes he had a deviation that the farrier shod differently or trimmed for a shoe differently :)

Im glad hes sound and happy and that those more practiced than myself the feet are looking OK :D

It is quite fascinating Ive found how hos feet have changed shape and size to match his needs :D

You can really see how the heels have beefed up in the sole shots :)

Thanks BB :D Hes still stomping along!! Even more so than the last time I saw you in Dec :D
