My horse has a build up of mucus in her airways and the vet has suggested using a nebuliser for a week or 2 to clear it as well as the antibiotics.
Has anyone nebulised a horse with a human nebuliser? How did you do it?
Many thanks..

start without any drugs, just get them used to having the balloon thing over their nostrils. Polos are useful.

Only use the drugs when they are 100% with the equipment or you'll be spraying them into the air.

My little pony was horrendous with firstly the equihaler - but with a lot of mints we got there - and then we moved onto the aerohippo (sp?) and had to start again from scratch. Patience and bribery are my advice!

You need a baby inhaler. It's a long tube with a mask on the end. It's perfect to fit over one nostril and you just put your hand over the other nostril. It's v easy. Ask your vet, mine supplied mine, if I remember correctly.

Yes I think that is what vet was thinking of as she said to put hand over one nostril and treat the other one. Thanks everyone
