Hi
I'm wondering if anyone has seen or has experience of the following?
Last Sunday I noticed a golf ball size lump right at the bottom of my neds neck where it merges into her chest slightly to the right hand side. She was slightly sensitive to touch but there wasn't any apparent heat. I checked to see if I could find any cuts etc but nothing.
On Monday whilst out riding she seemed to get short of breath in trot very quickly and in canter it sounded positively awful, rattling, like really loud snoring on every intake of breath and she really didn't want to go forward. A friend has suggested it may be just down to lack of fitness, which we know she isn't very fit, however first signs usually is that she gets very sweaty, she's always been very willing and forward but she really didn't want to go on Monday, and coming from trot to walk she just wanted to stop and hang her head as low as possible. No sweat at all apart from around the saddle and girth area.
So after leaving her during the week I've ridden today and although she is more forward than Monday she still seemed to get out of breath quickly and struggled in canter. The lump is still there and seems to have elongated itself instead of forming a ball shape. Again now real signs of sweatyness.
Has anyone had anything similar to this before??
