Anyone know when its okay to resume neck stretches following steroid into the joints (C5/C6)?

It was one of the questions of many that I had, and I forgot to ask the vet. If no one knows I will just ring up but I thought someone might save me the bother.

The vet was pleased with the amount of flexibility that he had with his stretches, but there was a small flare of arthritis which had shown up on xray and may/may not have contributed to his slight ataxia so it was decided to inject.

His neck was medicated last Thursday.

Also I am long lining on vets instruction on hard ground (grass/road) and he keeps on putting his head down to graze so any ideas how to stop him from doing so, I am trying to use my lunge whip to keep him moving forwards but when we have to stop for a car to pass he does it. My physio says not a good idea to interfere with his neck movement at this time or restrict it in anyway.

I would phone your vet regarding the neck stretches.

As for the long reining, that is basic manners, and I would not expect a horse to graze whilst working unless invited to. Therefore treat it like any other manners related issues, and make sure he knows it isn't on. Send him forwards strongly the moment you even notice he is thinking about grazing. You may have to alter your position and work along side his haunch (if safe to do so) rather than a distance behind him.
