Neck Sweat?? One for our Yankee friends??

Whilst browsing some outrageous boots on an American website, posted on another thread, I found these Neck Sweats. It says they promote sweating for a defined neck . Can anyone shed anymore light on these?? Do we have them in this country or is it an accross the Atlantic trend??

I *think* they're used in Arab showing to help define the head/neck angle as it's a key feature they're judged on. I might be wrong.

More than on Arabs, I worked a a camp over there and the US staff saw a lot of them- quite a few really quilted ones! Think it's a minority that use them, but they're not seen as a bad thing on the whole, certainly not by the girls I spoke to.

I have seen them used in Aus as well - mostly on ponies to prevent them developing a cresty neck.

I see them as a bad thing. Most people don't like to deliberately get their horses in a sweat for a reason (hence why many people clip) - they can't be very comfortable!

I suppose its like those body wrap things to sweat off the extra pounds... Maybe they retain water on their necks?!
