A representative from the British Equestrian Federation was being interviewed on the Radio 4 Farming Programme at 5.45 a.m. today Friday 31 August 2012 regarding the withdrawl the financial support of DEFRA of Ned Online He stated how important this central database for the registration of horses was to the British equestrian industry. It was stated that there were more than 75 different passport issuing bodies in Great Britain which was far greater than any other European country and that the www.nedonline.co.uk database was essential as a central resource of information for equestrians.

DEFRA are withdrawing their financial support for www.nedonline.co.uk this months and it is esential that alternative funding is found to support it.

www.nedonline.co.uk was designed to contains the records of the vast majority of passported horses in Great Britain and individual owners who can register with the site can add addutional details such as Freezemark numbers etc. which is very useful in the event of a horse being found as the owner can quickly be identified by a simple search of the database.
