Nedzbed mixed with shavings

Hi all, does anyone use nedzbed and small flake shavings together? I'm at a yard where they provide small flake shavings, but my mares so messy, I'm putting in 2 bales a week at the moment but it's getting to the point where I may need to put 3 in, so getting expensive. I'm wondering if it will be more absorbent if i mix them together? Any thoughts?

I have used easibed with them - that's pretty similar. I do think messy horses are better on easibed because you can deep litter whereas when I just used shavings I was taking loads out every day.

I'm not sure mixing the two made much of a difference but the bulk of my bed was easibed so the shavings sort of got lost in it.

Yes I do, the yard supplies the nedzbed but to add to it I put in shavings. Works really well and makes a lovely bed

We have mixed with shavings and worked really well
Also quite good with pellets

Tried this for the last few weeks. Works really nicely. I just do 1 shavings then next time 1 nedz and then 1 shavings and so forth.
