Ive started to wash Teds bandages today.. Not very nice. A hell of alot of memories.

Anyway. Ive decided that the bandages, saddlepads, bridle and excercise sheet are all going to go to my new horse.

I am keeping his Bit, I am keeping his headcoller and leadrope.

My question is what would you do with his saddle? Its basically brandnew. I bought it last January off of Thorowgoods themselves, its been used maybe 10 times. Its the T4 range in narrow.. Now it cost me 325.. and i dont want to sell it for less than 200.. i dont think.. Now i dont know what the market for saddles is like.. Is it worth me selling or should i keep it..

I also have a collectiong of rugs that Ive got to sell. And im hoping the horse who used to live next to Ted is going to have them, but if not, i think i will stick these on ebay.

Used Thorowgoods don't sell for a lot I'm afraid. Stick it on e-bay or advertise in your local tack shop or free ads. If you are going to buy a saddle for new ned, you might be able to part ex it.

New ned (if she passes the vet) is coming with hand made tac which does actually fit (bonus!) So if I can't get the 200 I'll keep it.. its worth more to me than a pittence

Bang it on ebay, you'll get £150 for it all day long, if its only been used 10 times chances are it won't of bedded in.
Most saddlers won't be interested in taking second hand synthetic saddle, they can't make money on them and most people by brand new ones if buying TG's or Wintecs from a saddler.

Otherwise it would be worth more for you to keep it.

So is it safe to assume you liked the mare then? I haven't been on much for the last few days so might have missed your post.
I hacve 5 saddles sitting in my tackroom that are redundant. They are all good saddles but I can't bear to part with them!!

Oh hun. If you're not desperate for the money now, keep it. Either in a quiet out of the way spot, or turn it into a seat.

well when my girl died i never washed anything just so if i wanted to smell her i could smell her rugs etc. i kept everything and apart from a few rugs that she really did not where i gave them to a horse sanutary i did not want to make any money off anything from her! If you want i think ebay would be your best bet!x
