Hi all.

Will start by saying that Bracken is being such a dream.

I need help with Chloe. She's regressed. Beyond belief. She wees inside, she runs off. I mean, she always used to run off a bit but we were doing so so much better.

When I take them both out for a wee (we have to go over the road to the grass as have no garden), I cannot take them on the lead. I have tried, god knows I've tried. But they tie themselves in circles and one of them gets tied up and soon enough is going to get hurt.

Chloe just ran off again and you know what? I just sat on the pavement and thought, just for a split second, god I hope she's lost for good.

Please be kind, I'm absolutely dying of food poisoning and havent stopped being sick in 72 hours. I need a hug =[ and advice. Its like she's seen Bracken and decided to freak out about it. xx

Double trouble? Por you and plenty of hugs.

It is up to you to stop them from tying their leads in knots. When it comes time to go potty make sure they are both calm and waiting before you open the door and they remain that way and stay behind you when you go out the door. If they get excited then just stop and make them wait.

As for you being sick, try sucking on ice cubes, it helps.

you could buy one of those double slip lads in a Y shape?

I know what you mean and A. hope you get better soon, just dont eat a thing and drink only water! i used to take handfuls of rennies when i had bubbly guts.

But i think everyones had one of those moments where you just give up. have you thought about caging the puppy for a bit every day and slavering attention over Chloe, and every time she looks a bit miffed making her the best dog ever. oh and separating them for brackens training, as you obviously need to make a huge fuss of her when she gets something right- ORtrain them together making sure Clo gets just as much attention as bracken when she does right.

Some photos of the two together...

I havent thought about those Y leads before, that might be a v good idea. I'm going to try again with the leads because I'm just getting to a point where I can't cope any more dammit!!

As a general rule for training (and walks), we start the walk together, then my OH continues on with Chloe and I turn back with Brax and then we do our own training separately. I would swap this (as Chloe is better with my OH) but my poor oh literally cannot cope with Bracken (we can never have babies!) but I might need to ask him again I think. We do treat them equally but maybe she needs more fuss because she is used to being an only dog I suppose.

xx

Every night I take my dogs out separately for a wee/poo on the lead on my drive. i cant let them in my garden because of foxes & badgers hence the lead. 2 weeks ago I had 3dogs of my friends staying and I did 5 walks up my drive every night.

Ihope you are soon feeling better and Im sure being ill means you are feeling overwhelmed by your dogs.

AWW, she looks cute.

Chloe probably knows shes missing out on something. mine will poo upstairs if i pee her off. dogs eh?

TBH, having had the two siblings and having learned from that, I pretty much do most things separately with my two.
One never sees the other going out - that is very important.
