Hacked today with 2 gelding from yard

My mare spooked at everything, tossed head constantly (she is in a new bit, still full cheek but had a lozenge rather than single joint)

Generally pinned ears back at the boys and got funny with them and did my head in ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Perhaps she got better taste and the geldings didn't come up to scratchOr she's coming into season.

It was just the head tossing, is this normal when coming into season?

Not all horses prefer a double jointed bit. If the head tossing continues I'd try changing back to the old one and see what happens.

My sensitive little Anglo mare hated the french link her rider wanted to use on her "because it was kinder" and went far more sweetly in a single jointed bit.

I will see in a few days, im wondering if maybe it is as she is in season? this would be the first proper season since having her foal, and she had him very young, could it all be linked!?

She has hacked with one of thdm alot but not the other. She was particularly "lets lynch him" towards him
