Can anyone recommend a good farrier in essex, one that doesnt just make their feet fit the shoe but actually makes the shoe fit their feet. I particuarly need one that does remedial shoeing. The current farrier has let my boys feet get too low, which has now resulted in suspensory ligament damage at the origin. Thanks.

I use Scott Mcquie. He's great, always takes time over my horses feet whether its my shetland or my shod horse and he worked wonders on my TB's dodgy tootsies, he's also happy to help people wanting to transition to barefoot. I'm not sure what area of Essex you're in but if you want his number or any more details PM me :)

Seeing the vet next week (for scans etc) but he has said he will need remedial shoeing so just trying to get an idea as vet isnt that close to the area.

Gary Jordon he sorted out my horses feet, I had long toes and the feet were not balanced he was sound after one shoeing, pm me if you want his number he may travel to upminster not sure I was at Havering when he did mine.

You could try James gerkin not sure if he goes that far out tho, but he a very good farrier, we use his older brother Richard as we are base near burnham on crouch, both of them were recommend to me but my vet when my tb needed his feet sorting out and touch wood my horse hasn't been lame since Richard has done him

I use Richard and am in Upminster

this is a 7 year old thread and neither of the people you have quoted are regular or current posters. I'd suggest asking on the essex horse riders fb page for numbers.
