Need advice-brecon beacons national park

Bought a field in the Brecon beacons national park.i am now being told to remove my three horses by the end of the month.
The main issue is that I have cordoned off a small area for winter, to save some grass for summer grazing, they are saying by feeding them hay they are now classed as equestrian and therefore cannot stay on the field.

Any advice to get around this gratefully received. Thank you
 
Who's 'They'?

Were there any Agricultural Restrictions or Ties attached to the land when you bought it?

How big is the land (acerage)?

and Who holds the SFP entitlements?

Horses grazing do not need any permission (unless there are different rules in the National Park). What does it say in the terms and conditions of the contract of sale? I think your best idea is to ring up the local BHS people, your County Chairman for example, as they are likely to know what the local conditions are.

PS - The SFP is no longer, it is now BPS - but the rules in Wales are different to England.

Nothing we were aware of

Acreage 2.5 acres when buying we knew we would have to feed extra, we were prepared to do this all year round if necessary. Only once in the seven years of having the field we have had to do this, it was a particular wet summer!

SFP???? Don't even know what that is! Lol
 
Thanks for helping, we didn't have any terms and conditions when we bought the field. Both the estate agent and the solicitor who handled this, knew we wanted the field for our horses, neither told us we could not keep horses on the land! I don't know what BPS is!!
 
The SFP is the Single Farm Payment which is the same thing as the now Basic Payment Scheme. I don't think that it can be claimed on as little as 2.5 acres though. Not sure, so if you go in to the RPA website, you should be able to find out for yourself. If you struggle with it, give me a shout, and I'll check, for you.

An important point; How did the Brecon Beacons NP Authority word there contact? Did they 'Ask' you, or 'Tell' you? If you're not in receipt of the SFP, then I'd be surprised if the local 'management' group can lay down the Law to you. If it helps, PM me, we'll exchange e/mail addresses, and if you then send the the demand/request, I'll give you an opinion.

I don't think you can have SFP as I think you have to have over 7 acres, I could be wrong but we came under one of these schemes with our 10 acres but as some of it was garden so could not be included we only just qaulified.
 
Is it anything to do with the land having agricultural rather than equestrian status? Or is in an area of special scientific interest or outstanding natural beauty?
